Ever wonder what you can do to improve the air quality in and around your home? Then surf over to YourHealthyHome.ca and see what you’re missing.
YourHealthyHome was designed by the Ontario Chapter of the Canadian Lung Association. Their mission is to do everything possible “to improve respiratory health.”
YourHealthyHome helps do just that. It’s an interactive room-by-room guide designed to help the site surfer identify and evaluate common indoor environmental pollutants that may be detrimental to one’s home and to one’s health.
Did you know that your home is under constant siege from some form of biological contaminant or another? Using Macromedia Flash animation software, YourHealthyHome shows us how and how to contain the contaminants. The interactive nature of Flash allows the site surfer to explore a typical home, room by room. Click on the different home areas to reveal potential problems. Click on the flashing blue dots to and solutions to the potential problems are offered.
The great thing about the YourHealthyHome is that it’s easy to use. The designers have programmed using a minimum of Flash, the Macromedia animation software. That means it’s a quick launching site for broadbanders and it won’t choke a dial-up line either. Another great thing about this site is that it offers simple, doable positive actions to help solve problem of indoor pollution. Really, the only bad thing about this site is that the site is English is the only language offered on the site. We would love to see it offered in a variety of languages because:
1. Immigrant populations to many English-speaking could stand to benefit from the health and conservation information provided.
2. Yourhealthyhome.ca offers fantastic advice for citizens of all industrialized and developing nations.
3. It is now technologically simple and affordable to create a multi-lingual website.
Finally, YourHealthyHome rates a .com Dish! “E” for everybody.
